To my goofy, silly, first rescue Lab. Your exuberance for life and ability to teach us how to live in the moment is a gift we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. We will miss your crazed joy at jumping in the lake or the neighbor's pools, pawing at us and shoving your snoot in our face if we were sad or upset, your absolute joy to jump in the back of the Jeep with the tops off, and just letting the wind blow up that beautiful snoot of yours as we drove along the beach. You are and forever will be our heart dog. Thank you for making us feel we are better humans that we probably are, and thank you for blessing us with a long, happy adventurous life. We will love you the rest of our days squirt. XOXO
In memory of my Grandmother whose love of all animals, especially dogs impacted my heart and my life since I was a small child. Her care, compassion and love for them all is where I got my love for animals. Such a wonderful gift that she gave to me. Thank you, Grandma; you are forever in my heart.
AJ, it's been six years since you left me and I still miss you. You were the sunshine in my life. The idea that a dog as smart and wonderful as you could be unwanted, unloved, or mistreated was what drew me to Labrador rescue sixteen years ago. Now look what has happened, we started a whole new rescue. You changed my life, you changed me, you changed the world.
Sandy was the 4th dog we adopted from Lab Rescue. She was a fierce protector of our property, and had no hesitation of letting people know she was in charge. One of her favorite things to do was grabbing my crocs and guarding them! Whenever I took them off, there she was in the family room making sure the crocs would not get away.
