Sunshine State Labrador Rescue is seeking dedicated volunteers to help safely transport Labrador Retrievers from shelters, owners, or veterinary clinics to foster homes and medical appointments. A Transportation Specialist (TS) might also be asked to deliver materials, food, or event items to another volunteer. Whether you have a reliable car or access to a private plane, your help ensures that every dog can reach safety and get the attention they need.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport Labradors between locations (shelters, fosters, vets)
- Coordinate with SSLR’s transport team for scheduling and routes
- Provide dogs with care and comfort during travel
- Maintain communication during trips for smooth handoffs
Requirements:
- Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license (for drivers) or pilot’s license (for pilots)
- Access to a safe, reliable vehicle or aircraft
- Willingness and ability to handle Labrador Retrievers of various ages and temperaments
- Flexibility to assist on local or longer-distance trips as available
