Available Dogs

Meet Char, a 75-pound chocolate (silver) Lab with a big heart, strong build, and absolutely zero concept of personal space. She is a giant cuddler who firmly believes laps are meant for dogs — even dogs her size. If you’re sitting, she’s likely sitting on you, and you’ll want to be steady on your feet because she sometimes likes to test her height by putting her front paws up to say hello.

Char knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, and no) and is fully house trained. She’s a classic Lab foodie and an accomplished counter surfer whose past snacks have included bread, tortillas, and even turtle food — nothing escapes her notice. She is a true velcro dog who prefers to keep her person within eyesight at all times.

Swimming doesn’t interest her, but fetch absolutely does. Every 1.5 to 2 hours she’s ready to play and will happily wear you out before calling it quits. Char gets along well with other dogs, takes treats gently from your hand, and prefers having the freedom to roam — though pantry doors should beware. When she finally runs out of energy, she falls asleep in the funniest positions imaginable, often half on furniture and half off.
